Building Strength With Travis Hanson

The 2010-11 season will be Travis Hanson's second year with the Knoxville Ice Bears. He began playing hockey at the age of three in the Escanaba Area Junior Hockey Association and then for the Escanaba Eskymos High School team.  After high school he went on to play for Finlandia University NCAA Div. 3. His professional appearances to date include stints with the Cincinnati Cyclones, Muskegon Lumberjacks, Flint Generals, and the Knoxville Ice Bears.

His other interests include sports in general and being active. "I love being able to get home and spend time with my parents and three brothers.  I also enjoy coaching and mentoring youth hockey players in the game of hockey."

How are you preparing for the '10-'11 season?
Staying in the gym and skating. 

What is your conditioning routine?
Cardio conditioning at a high level and working on getting stronger and quicker.

What skills are you focusing on?
Strength, foot speed, and stickhandling.

What food or beverage would you recommend to a first time visitor?
Hot pretzels and cheese are always on of my favorites at sporting events!!!! 

What opponent do you look forward to facing most?
Looking forward to playing each and every game and focusing on one game at a time. Obviously everyone in the league is looking towards Huntsville, who won it last year..
