Chilly’s Reading Club
date: 07/27/2011
The Knoxville Ice Bears have started a new program to help children become more involved with reading! The Chilly’s Reading Club is a new way to help encourage children to learn to read and continue to keep on reading. We want to show children the importance of learning how to read by participating in storytime, children’s reading groups, and classroom activities.
Chilly will send out a new list of books each month to the children so that they can challenge themselves by reading new books! By doing so, it will also help build awareness of local public libraries because it will encourage families to go check the books out.
This program is targeted for all ages and all reading levels. It does not matter whether the child is in diapers or in school, this program is for them. When participants sign up, they will be required to say how old the child is so Chilly can send an appropriate book list to them!
The participants of Chilly’s Reading Club will also receive an official Chilly’s Reading Club bookmark, an activity booklet, and a log sheet for the books that they will read! This club is free and is solely to help children become more involved with reading and increase their knowledge/interest in hockey!
If you’d like more information or if you’d like to sign your child up, email Jordan Halverson at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) with the sign up sheet and you are ready to go!
