Emery Olauson, Ice Bears Get Revenge
date: 11/19/2011Emery Olauson got a hat trick and the Knoxville Ice Bears got some sweet revenge Friday night.
Olauson scored twice in the first minute and got the game-winner with 4:37 left as the Ice Bears beat Augusta 5-3 before 3,471 fans in the Civic Coliseum.
The Ice Bears were motivated by an incident last February in which Augusta’s Aaron McGill sucker punched Mark Van Vliet, who sustained a broken jaw. McGill was suspended for the rest of the season by the Southern Professional Hockey League.
Another incident involving McGill after Friday’s game will likely be investigated by the SPHL.
