Emery Olauson: SBK Player of the Week

CHARLOTTE,  NC (November 22, 2011) – The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL)  today announced Emery Olauson of the Knoxville Ice Bears is the SBK Player of the Week for November 14-20.

In Knoxville’s only game last week, Olauson recorded his first hat trick of the season and added an assist in a 5-3 win over league-leading Augusta.  Olauson powered the Ice Bears to an early lead, scoring twice in the first 48 seconds of the game.  His third goal of the night came with less than five minutes remaining in regulation and proved to be the game-winner, keeping the Ice Bears a perfect 6-0 at home on the season.

Olauson,  who has recorded a point in eight of nine games this season, currently leads the SPHL with 11 goals and is second in points (18) and plus-minus rating (+14).  The Canmore, Alberta native is in his fifth SPHL season and second with Knoxville, having been the Ice Bears’ second-leading scorer last season (29-28-57)
