Knoxville Ice Bears Partner with ESPN Radio 1180 AM As Official Broadcast Partner of the 2011-12 Season

Knoxville, TN – The Knoxville Ice Bears have entered into a ground breaking partnership with ESPN Radio 1180 am that will broadcast the entire 2011-12 season over the airwaves and on the internet.   

ESPN Radio 1180 AM will broadcast all 56 regular season games and all playoff games.  As the official broadcast partner of the Knoxville Ice Bears, ESPN Radio 1180 will provide colorful and descriptive accounts of the action on the ice through the eyes of Mark Atnip and John Haynes.  The partnership will include the broadcast of pre and post game shows that will highlight all the accounts of the games activities.

With the Knoxville Ice Bears 2010-11 season concluding one month ago, the organization is preparing for the 2011-12 season – the 10^th Anniversary Season of the Knoxville Ice Bears.  On the 10^th day of each month, running May – October, the Knoxville Ice Bears will release a major announcement in celebration of the landmark season.

The broadcast will provide unique content that will include interviews with players, coaches and management from Ice Bears as well as special guest appearances throughout the season.   In addition to the unique content, hosts Atnip and Haynes will provide in-depth stats that will accentuate the enjoyment of the games.

ESPN Radio is locally owned affiliate of ESPN Radio that carries local and national programming to Knoxville.  The station is located on 1180 AM and www.espnradioknoxville.com.

The Knoxville Ice Bears are a locally owned professional hockey team that plays in the Knoxville Civic Coliseum and is a founding member of the SPHL.  Established in 2002, Knoxville has won four Commissioner’s Cups as the regular season champion and three SPHL President’s Cup Championships during the nine years of play.    The Ice Bears are the longest tenured professional hockey franchise Knoxville.
