Ice Bears, Cincinnati reach agreement
date: 09/27/2010With that in mind, Craigen has established a working relationship with the East Coast Hockey League's Cincinnati Cyclones and their first-year coach, Jarrod Skalde.
If the Cyclones need a player, they might look first to Knoxville - and vice versa. The ECHL is a step closer to the NHL than the Southern Professional Hockey League, of which Knoxville is a member.
"It's a great experience for players at this level to be able to go up to Cincinnati," Craigen said. "It's a great recruiting tool for me to tell a 21-year-old guy, 'Hey, we're working with Cincinnati, if it's a goal of yours to move up, this is the best place to be because you're only four hours away and they're looking at us for help when they need players.'
