Ice bears edge past Cottonmouths
date: 01/02/2009
The Knoxville Ice Bears paid tribute to reality television tonight during a home game against the Columbus Cottonmouths. While the intermission activity was full of humorous entertainment, the team got down to business with a 2 to 1 win over the Cottonmouths.
Knoxville Ice Bears forward Ryan Moore continued to put points on the board. Moore scored the first goal of the night, which was assisted by Sean Cryer and Mark Van Vliet. Columbus’ Ryan Rutz tied the game in the third period; however less than two minutes later the Sher-Wood Player of the Month Kevin Swider score off an assist by Tim Vitek and Mike Carter. This was the only power play goal of the night.
The Knoxville Ice Bears left immediately after tonight’s game to go to Richmond. They will play back-to-back games against the Renegades. The next home game is Friday, January 9.
