The league-leading hockey team is hosting the Annual Blood Drive on Monday, January 26, from 8a.m. until 6:30pm p.m. The blood drive will be held at the Medic Regional Blood Center on 1601 Ailor Avenue, the team will join with the radio station Sports Animal as they broadcast live from 3pm - 7pm. In a unified effort to encourage participation, the Knoxville Ice Bears will be on hand to help in the donation of blood, as well as signing autographs and joining with fans in taking photos.

"Everyone who donates will receive a free t-shirt and silver Ice Bears flex ticket," said Kim Bittinger, Ice Bears, Director of Marketing and Communications. "The silver flex ticket allows you to choose the game you wish to attend, so you can pick the date. It's our way of saying thanks for your efforts."

The Medic Regional Blood Center serves 29 hospitals located in 21 counties in East Tennessee and must collect blood from more than 250 people every day in order to meet the needs of local hospitals.

"Just like I expect great things from our team, "said Ice Bears President Mike Murray, "I know we will see a great turnout for this very important service to the community."
