Ice Bears extend win streak to eight
date: 11/24/2008The Knoxville Ice Bears have won eight straight games.
The Knoxville Ice Bears defeated the Richmond Renegades 4 -0 at the Knoxville Civic Coliseum. Knoxville's power play (1st in the SPHL) was ineffective, but the Ice Bears were able to score three even streght goals along with a penalty shot by Ryan Moore in the second period to keep the Renegade scoreless for the second consecutive game. Goals were scored by Kevin Swider, Chris Rebernik, and Mike Carter.
The Ice Bears have extended their home winning streak to seven games with winning four straight at home. Knoxville currently holds the leagues longest win streak with an opportunity to extend it on Thanksgiving Day when they travel to Columbus to take on the Cottonmouths.
Knoxville's goalie Kirk Irving secured his first professional shut out by making 31 saves in the victory.
The next home game is Friday, November 28th at 7:30 - Weiner Dog races. Take a break from shopping by spending some time with your family at the Knoxville Civic Coliseum. Tickets are sill available with very few spots remaining for Weiner dogs to participate.
