Knoxville Scores three in the thrid for second straight road win.

Biloxi, MS - The Knoxville Ice Bears picked up their second straight win on the road by defeating the Mississippi Surge 5 - 4. Captain Kevin Swider notched is eighth and ninth goals of the season and was rewarded with the first star of the game.

Knoxville started off the scoring just 1:09 into the game on a goal by defenseman Chris Brannen. The Surge's Shofield brought the game even only 88 seconds later. After being outshot 11 - 5 and killing off a 5 on 3 for 1:44 the Ice Bears escaped to the first intermission with game knotted at one.

The second period saw the Ice Bears jump out to another early lead, just thirty seconds into the middle frame on Swider's first of two goals. The Surge's Velemirovich and Boudreau each scored to pull ahead. Knoxville peppered Mississippi with 16 shots but could only muster the one goal.

The third period brought out offensive powerhouse that Ice Bear fans are accustom. Swider, Kevin Harris and B.J. Pelkey scored three goals is a 7:21 span to put the Ice Bears up for good. Mississippi's Richard goal with 1:42 remaining in the game was the only blemish of the third period.

Andrew Gallant turned aside 32 of 36 shots for the victory.
