Ice Bears, SPHL Release Names of Protected Players

Knoxville Ice Bears Head Coach Mike Craigen chose to protect the following players:

Mike Bulawka, Mark Van Vliet, Frank Furdero, David Segal, Jim Jensen, Chris Pontes, Jason Weeks, Jon Higgins, Eric Slais, Emery Olauson, Tyler Fletcher, Rob Sich, Bryan Hince

All other players become free agents and are eligible to sign with any team including the Knoxville Ice Bears. In the case of expansion non-protected players are first subject to the expansion draft before becoming free agents.
