Ice Bears win in shootout

The Knoxville Ice Bears defeated the Twin City Cyclones last night at Twin City, but got off to a slower start against the Cyclones tonight on home ice. Twin City’s Richard put the first point on the board in the second period. Knoxville’s Kevin Swider cored the next two goals, and former Ice Bear Ben Manny tied it up in the third period. No one else scored until the shootout. Knoxville tipped the scales after Tim Vitek, Kevin Swider and Ryan Moore all made shots in the shootout to give Knoxville the final point.

Both teams lacked at power play conversions. Knoxville was 0-11, and Twin City was 0-6.

The Knoxville Ice Bears take on Huntsville Havoc tomorrow at 5:00 p.m. at the Knoxville Civic Coliseum for Family Fun Day.
