Kevin Swider ‘excited’ to Return

Kevin Swider makes his long-awaited return to the Knoxville Ice Bears tonight at 7:30 for an exhibition game against Columbus at the Civic Coliseum.

Fans will be pumped. So will Swider, who played all or part of eight seasons with the Ice Bears (2002-10) before retiring after the 2009-10 season.

“I’m definitely excited just to be out there skating again,” Swider said this week. “We’ll see what happens. I’m sure my adrenaline will be flowing.”

Ice Bears coach Mike Craigen has big plans for Swider and this year’s team — and tonight’s game is a blip in the radar of those plans.
