Knoxville City Council recognizes Ice Bears

On Tuesday, May 5 the Knoxville City Council recognized the Knoxville Ice Bears for their accomplishments over the past season. The Knoxville Ice Bears orgainzation is one of the few professional sports teams in Knoxville and are proud to represent the city of Knoxville during competition in the Southern Professional Hockey League. The team strives to provide a family-friendly atmosphere at an affordable price to local citizens and tourists. Over the course of 35 home games this season,  111,896 fans have visited the Knoxville Civic Coliseum. The team is committed to this community and have enjoyed success on and off the ice this season.

Under direction of head coach Scott Hillman, the Knoxville Ice Bears have become the first team in the SPHL to win back-to-back championships.
