Knoxville Ice Bears defeat Huntsville Havoc again
date: 01/30/2009Country stars Emerson Drive kicked off an exciting night of hockey with a rockin’ National Anthem (presented by WIVK and Cotton Eye Joe), and Knoxville Ice Bears newcomer Justin Keller helped to finish it off with two goals. Keller’s first goal came ust under six minutes into the first period, and was assisted by Chris Brannen and Brett Smith. Shaun Norrie followed suite less than a minute behind with another goal assisted by B.J. Pelkey and Travis Martell, putting the Knoxville Ice Bears up 2-0 over the second place Huntsville Havoc.
Knoxville Ice Bears forward Tim Vitek scored Knoxville’s third goal in the second period assisted by team captain Kevin Swider. Justin Keller added one more point for the Ice Bears in the third period, just before Huntsville scored their only goal of the night.
The Ice Bears remain in first place in the Southern Professional Hockey League, and will play another game at home tomorrow night at 7:30.
