Knoxville Ice Bears get first lose of season

After defeating the Huntsville Havoc last night 6 to 1, the Knoxville Ice Bears got off to a slow start tonight. Havoc’s Justin Rohr scored a short-handed goal just under eight into the first period, and former Ice Bear Mike Carter scored the second goal of the night putting Huntsville up 2 to 1.
The Havoc continued their streak by scoring 1:13 into the second period, but the Ice Bears clawed their way back with two power play goals. Forward Kevin Swider scored the Ice Bears first goal on the power play at 2:40, followed by Bobby Joe Pelkey at just over ten minutes into the second period, brining the score to 3 to 2.
Justin Rohr’s hat trick extended the Huntsville lead to 5 to 2.
The Knoxville Ice Bears organization would like to thank all of the fans that brought teddy bears for the Teddy Bear Toss tonight. These teddy bears will be donated to local youth charities.
