His second goal came about six minutes into the second period and tied the game. The strong trio of Mike Carter, Kevin Swider and Tim Vitek showed their power again this game. Swider assisted Carter’s first goal, and Swider and Vitek were both credited for assists on the second.
B.J. Pelkey put the Ice Bears ahead late in the second period of a goal assisted by Swider and Wrobel, but Tim Green answered back for Columbus and tied the game again. It was not until the end of overtime that Mike Carter scored a hat trick and won the game for the Knoxville Ice Bears.
