Knoxville Ice Bears select promotional team

date: 04/20/2009

April 20, 2008 – Even though the Knoxville Ice Bears just won another Southern Professional Hockey League championship, preparations for next season have already begun. The Ice Bears hosted Hunnies auditions on Saturday, April 18, and are proud to introduce the new Hunnies promotional dance team. Eleven local ladies were chosen for the 2009-2010 team.

The Hunnies promotional dance team is an integral part of the Knoxville Ice Bears organization. This group entertains during home games, interacts with the fans, and performs community service. The Hunnies have been entertaining fans at Ice Bears games since 2004, and are sponsored by Hardee’s and Hot 104.5.

Members of the team have to meet a few requirements in order to be eligible for the Hunnies promotional dance team. They have to be at least 18 years of age, live within the Knoxville area, have previous dance and performance experience and have participated in community service projects.

The 2009-2010 Hunnies promotional dance team is composed of several returning ladies, as well as some new faces. The team members are captain Erica Wilkerson, co-captain Tiffany Sims, Angela Bryant, Brittany Edwards, Sequoia Simpson, Bethany Bilyeu, Jessica Anderson, Ashley Robertson, Noelle Jackson, Sarah Richardson, Heather Moore and Renee Stancliffe.

“We are very happy with the caliber of team members that have been chosen to be a part of the Hunnies promotional team. This particular group has transformed into much more than just a dance team, and has become an extension of the Ice Bears organization. We are proud to have women like this who can be strong role models for our young fans,” commented president and general manager Mike Murray.

The Hunnies will be involved in several fundraising events such as cars washes at local businesses and a youth dance clinic throughout the summer.
