Knoxville Ice Bears win two out of three

The Knoxville Ice Bears came ready to play after winning back-to-back games on the road, ending a four-game losing streak, but the Columbus Cottonmouths had a 3-goal run in the third to give the Ice Bears their third straight loss at home. Columbus defeats Knoxville with a score of 3-2.
Knoxville’s Travis Hanson scored first with help from red-hot Frankie Furdero and Bobby Joe Pelkey at 6:32 in the first period. Furdero has scored five goals in the last two games. Kevin Swider tallied his 32nd goal of the season off a pass from Pelkey and Tim Vitek during a power play. Swider has had 40 points in the last 21 games and is second in the league in scoring with 72 points. The first period ended with a score of 2-0, Knoxville.
The second period saw lots of shots on goal, 14 for Columbus and 11 for Knoxville, but none of them found their way to the back of the net.
Columbus battled back in the third to score three goals to end the game 3-2, costing Knoxville valuable points in the league standings.
