Race Night exciting for fans

date: 01/10/2009

The fans saw some fast and furious action during Race Night as the Knoxville Ice Bears game tonight. Defenseman Chris Brannen stared it off four minutes into the first period with a goal assisted by goalie Andrew Gallant and captain Kevin Swider

The second period was scoreless but still very intense with two fights. The starting goalies, Ice Bears Andrew Gallant and Twin City’s terry Dunbar, both got game misconducts and ejected for leaving the crease to join an altercation.

Ice Bears forward Brett Smith, assisted by Mike Carter and Tim Vitek, scored the second goal of the night midway through the third, making the final score 2-0. The fans saw one more Twin City player get ejected and a game that could have gone in the shutout column for Gallant. Either way, the game goes in the win column for the Ice Bears.
