Kaden Fulcher stopped all 29 shots he faced and the Knoxville Ice Bears fell to the Pensacola Ice Flyers 6-0 Saturday night at the Pensacola Bay Center.

It’s the second shutout win in three nights for Fulcher, who started all three games for Pensacola this weekend.

Cooper Jones scored early with a shot from the right point that beat Cody Karpinski down low just 1:10 into the game. The goal was initially waived off by referee Doug Dowell, but the call was overturned after a brief discussion among the officials.

Zac Herrmann scored ten seconds later with a one-timer from the high slot to make it 2-0. Mitch Atkins and Jordan Henderson scored 25 seconds apart a few minutes later to make it 4-0 less than eight minutes into the game. Karpinski was pulled following the fourth goal and replaced by Kristian Stead. Karpinski finished with two saves on six shots against.

Herrmann scored his second of the night with a one-timer from the right circle on the power play at 3:40 of the second period. Knoxville had a couple of chances before the second intermission, but Kaden Fulcher stopped Brady Fleurent’s backhand from in front and denied Cam Hough’s one-timer from the right circle.

Ivan Bondarenko scored on a breakaway in the third period to cap off the scoring.

Knoxville will visit Fayetteville on Wednesday morning. Pensacola is at Birmingham on Friday night.
