The Knoxville Ice Bears have acquired goaltender Evan Moyse from the Vermilion County Bobcats in exchange for future considerations, Ice Bears Head Coach Jeff Carr confirmed Monday afternoon.

In a subsequent move, goalie Breandan Colgan has been placed on waivers. Colgan appeared in one game for Knoxville, stopping 12 of 14 shots in the Ice Bears’ 5-4 loss to Peoria on December 11.

Moyse has appeared in six SPHL games over the past two seasons. He made one start for Vermilion County this year, giving up six goals on 29 shots against in the Bobcats’ 6-1 loss to Huntsville on December 4. He played in five games for Birmingham last season.

A native of Olmsted Falls, Ohio, Moyse played collegiately at Ohio State and has started three games in the ECHL. He went 1-2 with a 3.08 goals against average while playing for the Jacksonville Icemen and Wheeling Nailers.

The Ice Bears face Roanoke on Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock.
