The Knoxville Ice Bears are partnering with Union Place Bar & Grill to host away game watch parties for Ice Bears road games for the 2021-22 season. Fans will be able to view HockeyTV’s broadcast of all team away games at the restaurant located at 4884 Chambliss Ave. in Knoxville. Union Place Bar & Grill features a recently added 160-inch video wall television.
“We’re excited to bring Union Place into the Ice Bears family in a big way by having them host our viewing parties,” said Ice Bears President and General Manager Mike Murray. “Due to the pandemic, we couldn’t host watch parties last season. This will be a great place for our fans to come together, cheer on the Ice Bears and enjoy themselves.”
Union Place Bar & Grill also features a full bar, a scratch kitchen that uses local ingredients and a game room. It has a pet-friendly patio for outdoor seating, a private event space and live music on the weekends.
“We want to give Ice Bears fans the best game day experience when the team is on the road,” said Union Place Bar & Grill Owner Aaron Nelson. “We’ve worked to ensure this isn’t just another place where the game happens to be on TV. It’s a watch party for Ice Bears fans at a place that supports the organization and this community. With our new big screen, we’re happy to bring as much excitement as possible for each game outside of Knoxville.”
The Ice Bears begin their 20th season on Friday, October 15 at the Civic Coliseum. The first road game watch party will be October 22 when Knoxville visits the Birmingham Bulls.
